family conference

Overview

The Neutropenia Family Conference is a time for people and families of all ages and all types of neutropenia to come to share stories, learn, and spend time together.

After taking a year off, the Neutropenia Family Conference is back in Ann Arbor, MI at the Marriott Hotel Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest, with improvements and changes to assure the best possible experience for all participants. As in past years, participants in the 2018 Neutropenia Family Conference will have a chance to speak with the experts, hear presentations covering the latest treatment and research, and participate in programs geared toward managing life with neutropenia in it. More Details
We’ve made a change in the Family Conference schedule. This year sessions will start on Friday, July 13th, time TBA, with a choice of First Time Attendees and Conference Reunion. We want to give those new an overall view of what to expect and those returning, a time to say hi to friends.

The popular Friday Meet and Greet Reception will return. As in the past families and presenters will have a chance to mingle and get to know each other while enjoying a filling assortment of appetizers.

We plan to continue the Friday Kids Kamp so parents will have the opportunity to attend the educational sessions on Friday afternoon knowing their children are having fun in a safe environment with their peers. Children will be welcomed back to Kids Kamp on Saturday where another day of learning and fun activities will be presented by the Child Life staff from the University of Michigan.

Kids Kamp is divided into two age groups. One for ages 3-5 and one for ages 6 and older. If we have teens we will make every effort to tailor programs for them.

Saturday afternoon will have several choices for attendees. There will break out sessions with different interests related to those with neutropenia. A return of Connect Clubhouse gives attendees time to browse some information booths and talk with others. This is also a time to take a little break or a nap before the evening dinner.

On Saturday evening we continue our tradition of hosting a family dinner where participants can relax and enjoy time with new friends.

The 2018 Neutropenia Family Conference comes to a close on Sunday, July 15 after breakfast and a final session.
